Some of us find this step a real challenge. It feels mercenary to ask.
However, I'm training myself to think of it as a public service. By giving my nearest and dearest a list of what I'd like for Christmas, not only do I make Christmas shopping much less terrifying for my colour blind husband (he likes to be given shop addresses and barcode numbers too) but also cut down on clutter later.
So get out a piece of paper, write down what you'd really like for Christmas (at a few different price points) and leave it on the fridge door or somewhere that the elves can find it.
