It is time to get rid of anything out of date, with an unreadable label, or that you've finished using.
Australian pharmacies are required to accept old medicines for safe disposal.
Two thirds of children admitted to hospital for poisoned have taken medication not meant for them, often from a friend or grandparent’s medicine cabinet.
By safely disposing of any medications you no longer need you reduce the chance of a child (or yourself) being poisoned.
Consider adding a lock to the medicine cabinet too if you have small visitors.
