First of all a HUGE thank you to everyone who turned out for my talk at Berkelouw Books last night. It was wonderful to see your smiling faces in the audience (especially from the sheer height of the stool I was perched on so precariously). If you haven't been to Berkelouw in Paddington yet you should - they have a wonderful cafe, a wine bar and of course a wonderful collection of books. I'm going to head back for one of their Jazz evenings very soon. I will be speaking at their Mona Vale store next Thursday night too.
Today I hit the kids room with a rubbish bag and the recycling bin.
A lot of clutter isn't really clutter - it is just rubbish that hasn't made it into the bin.
Old homework, balloons that have lost their air, sticks - none of it is hard to throw away, but it lurks anyway. You may be able to add broken toys and clothes that are beyond mending to that list.
Don't make this job hard - just give the room a 'once over lightly' and get rid of the rubbish. If you don't have a kids room do this to the other bedroom instead.
